The Coiba National
Park is a park located in the districts of Montijo and Soná in the province of Veraguas,
a 25-minute flight from Panama City. With an area of 270,125 hectares, it
protects marine, insular and coastal ecosystems. Its surface: 270,125 ha, of which 216,543 are marine. The Coiba
National Park was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2005. The island
of Coiba has 493 km² being the most extensive of the Panamanian geography.
How to get there?
By road either in own transport or buses the process is longer since it takes approximately 2 hours from Santiago-Veraguas to Santa Catalina-Soná. And from Santiago to Montijo or Puerto Mutis (25km) take 25 either by bus, taxi or car. To move by sea to the Island. 245 km 5 hours from Panama to the Island. This transfer will depend on the weather conditions and the type of vessel used or the availability of the boats, in a fast boat and in good weather the trip can take about 2 hours opposite to 6 hours. To visit Isla Coiba, you must obtain prior permits from the Criminal Correction Directorate of the Ministry of Government and Justice and the National Environmental Authority (ANAM).
What to do?
Activities that can be done in a group or individual. Beaches, diving and fishing are the products offered by this Park along its entire coastal perimeter. Very fine sands and the transparency of the water are some characteristics of the beaches such as Playa Damas and Playa Blanca in Isla Coiba, as well as those that can be found in the Granito de Oro, Ranchería, Uvas, Contreras, and others. From an island within the Park, you can organize a day for scuba diving or simply for fishing, an activity that is internationally recognized in the area of Coiba for the species that are found there such as the merlin. In this place there is a variety of flora and fauna for nature lovers, including turtle nesting in the beach areas and dolphins and whales can be seen.
What to eat?
In National Park of Coiba there is no restaurant, so you have to take your supplies as a snack, dried fruit and plenty of water are essential to staying hydrated. It is totally forbidden to litter.

There is not fixed budget ,because people want to do different activities, and they use different transportation mean to get there. You can make that trip cheap as possible.
